Nick and Karen's Excellent Adventure (at the Sonographer's)
For anyone interested, here's a video of the newest member of the family. The subject is currently in beta testing, with a scheduled release date of late February/early March.
Oh, and in case you can't tell (what, you're not a lab technician?), it's a baby girl.

Also, I like it at 1.23-24 where you can see the bottoms of her wee feet. And at 1.34 where she very cooperatives without fuss with a sonographer figuring out for mama and papa if baby's a she or he.
I still think the most beautiful part of my own babe's sonograph is the stacked, glowing pearls of his spine.

I thought it was just beautiful, and quite startling, to see the rib cage in such clear definition (even if only for a few seconds). And then there was the heart fluttering inside it like a tiny baby bird.
Amazing.

How cool! This is much better than all the sonographs I put into AAFP ALSO slides. I couldn't tell what those were but these allowed even the non lab-technos to see something! Congrats!

Oh, she's lovely! We must be genetically programmed to fall in love with the profile of a baby's round head and little button nose.

My granddaughter is sweet. Those legs are really long like Nick said. I know you both are so excited.

Amazing...it never ceases to amaze me how the whole development process works. The thing that really got me every time was watching the heartbeat. Colleen didn't want to know the gender of our son during the gestation period, so they avoided that area as much as possible. I did love to see the little heart thumping (and I remember feeling somehow relieved that all the chambers were present and functioning appropriately). Its just an amazing and exiting process and time in your life...congrats my dear friend...I love you guys...all 3 of you!

I'm also glad to say that I'm very excited to be visiting Kansas in May (hopefully all 3 of us, but probably just me and Christopher...I don't think I'll be able to NOT bring him if I visit Kansas due to most of my family not seeing him yet). I'll/We'll definitely be visiting you guys...I really can't wait to see her!

PS - Grats on the little lady. Stay healthy and say something degrading to Nick. Tell him it's from Jai and I.
